My Heart's Desire
She came before the Throne one night, her heart in hand and on her knees
The Holy Spirit had brought her in before God's Mercy Seat.
All of Heaven watched her closely as she bowed her head in tears
“Father I read something in Your Word, and that is why I'm here.”
God looked into her heart, smiled at what He saw
“Go ahead My child, I want to hear it all.”
She was so in awe of Him and His holiness
but with a pounding heart, she took a deep breath
and this is what she said:
“Lord, You've been so good to me, I just cannot complain
But everywhere I look around me, so much suffering, sin and pain
too many are sick and weak, and so many more are deceived
Lord, You are the answer, You are all they need
I remember what You said when Moses asked to see Your Face
I am here trembling, Lord, but I just couldn't stay away
I know You won't tell me no, cos Your promises are tue
So I empty myself and ask Dear Lord, please fill me up with You.
I don't want to live this life You gave and waste it on myself
while all around me Satan rages and souls are going to hell
You are a consuming fire, please burn up the chaff
You gave me this life, now I'm here to give it back.
I bow before Your sovereignty, do with me what You please
I ask these things in Jesus' name, I won't leave here like I came.
She was so in awe of Him and His holiness
but with a pounding heart, she took a deep breath
and this is what she said:
You said “Delight yourself in Me, I'll give you your heart's desire,
present yourself to Me as a living sacrifice”
Lord YOU alone my heart desires, nothing else satisfies
You said be filled and I can't fill myself,
so let me see Your holy face and die.
