This is not going to be a political post, but a few things political prompted this post. In the first three days of the new administration, our President has decided to close down a camp housing those who would love to destroy our nation and way of life, our children and our citizens. He has signed executive orders lifting bans on abortions, and embryonic stem cell research is now allowed to move into human clinical trials, because he overturned Bush executive orders banning this heinous practice which is nothing short of murdering the innocent. How desperately he needs prayer. Remember the Word of God says we are not to speak evil of any man.
We have a new leader who is not walking in the right way, but in evil ways. These decisions reveal the country is not as important as is world opinion to the new president. Innocent human life is not important, either. So what are we who love God, and our country to do? First remember, this is not our home, we are only passing through and Scripture warns us that these things will happen, that men will be lovers of their own selves, without natural affection. We live in America, and we may love America and the American way of life, then we err. If we are born again and have God living in us, this world, this nation is not our home. We must allow God to strip us of all attachment to any and everything of this world. God has a place for His own, He is a Refuge, an ever present Help in trouble because He knows there is an ever present evil that would love to destroy His children.
Psa 46:2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
We do not have to be afraid because we have a refuge, a hiding place-a place of safety and security-the Lord Jesus Christ. When we see terrible things coming on this earth, we need to look up, not down. Jesus warned us how things would be in the last days. Look to the Word for how He deals well with His people even in terrible circumstances.
Psa 46:3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
Though the heathen rage against righteousness and try to tear it down, though the enemy roars and threatens with great swelling words, God's people do not have to be afraid nor do they have to cower in shame as the enemy would have them do. If we have spent time in our secret place with God, learning Him, seeking Him, knowing Him, then even though fear will hit us, it won't overwhelm us. We will be anchored on the Rock and no storm will tear down our house.
Psa 46:4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
There is the river of living waters, the Holy Ghost of God, flowing in the midst of His people, those who are praying and seeking Him, yielding to Him, and He will secure His own. How can He inhabit you and not protect and secure you from the devices of the enemy? Does this mean there will be no suffering, no trials or hardships? No. But it does mean we will have the Comforter with us no matter what comes.
Psa 46:5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
GOD is in the midst of Her, his church. He will see she is not overwhelmed or carried away by the flood of the enemy. He will not be late nor will He be absent. He is right on time. He lives in us, Greater is HE than anything the enemy can throw at God's people. The key is staying close to God, digging in His Word, seeking His presence. Making time and preparing Him a place to inhabit.
Psa 46:6 The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted.
Psa 46:7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
There is a rage against righteousness building in the world. Darkness is spreading so fast it's breathtaking. It's in your face darkness now. It doesn't seet to stay hidden-it is advertising itself. Demanding its right to exist and make others bow before it. No matter what happens, look unto HIM and be saved. He is our salvation-the Scriptures are to point us to Him, draw us to Him, and teach us who He is. He has sent the Holy Spirit to us to teach us, to live in us, to strengthen and empower us. Only the Holy Spirit can stand the onslaught that is here.
Rev 12:15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
He is doing this, even now. So what do God's people have to do to make it through this and be ready when He comes? What can he do when he comes and finds nothing in you he can exploit? How is it possible? Total and unconditional surrender to the Holy Spirit, being crucified with Christ-that is the testimony of Jesus Christ-one of death to self and living unto and for the purposes of God alone. If the enemy comes to one who cares not for his own life, who cares only for the Lord, His glory, His purpose, and the souls of men, what can the enemy do to such a one? If he kills them, they go to glory. If he imprisons them, they'll preach Christ to the prisoners. If they hold nothing dear but Christ, having committed all to Him, trusting He is able to keep that which is committed unto Him, come what may. Even in suffering, we can hold on to HIM and trust Him to keep us and that which we have committed to HIM. Including our families. What can the enemy do with a people like that? Nothing but roar in frustration. We have the blood of Jesus, the power of the Word to light our way, and the Holy Spirit to be in us the ability of and mind of Christ. Let us draw near to Him, repent of any sin, and embrace the cross once for and all and never let it go. Trust the Holy Spirit will lead us to the cross and finish the work there. We cannot crucify ourselves, but we can yield to Him who can. The only way to overcome evil is with Good and since there is nothing good in us but HIM, this is a war between Light and Darkness, so let the Light that was in Him that was the life of men flow freely out of surrendered, prepared vessels of God.
Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
Rev 12:17 And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Have not I commanded thee? Be strong, and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord THY God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Joshua 1:9.
Our strength is God and it depends on us knowing HIM for ourselves. We need to fast and pray and seek the face of God like we never have before, folks. Then we can be bright shining lights in the darkness-and no darkness can overtake the LIGHT OF GOD.
The Song of Love
-
I wrote this song seven months ago, in the very depths of my cancer and
chemo. The presence of the Lord and His grace and mercy had settled on me
for that ...
